ABABU NAMWAMBA RESIGNS AS ODM'S SECRETARY GENERAL

The Budalangi member of Parliament, Ababu Namwamba had made good his threats and resigns from his position as the secretary general of ODM on Wednesday, 6th July 2016. He claimed that his resignation is as a result of disrespect and harassment despite his effort to market the party under opposition's Cord coalition. Ababu had also earlier on complaintaking over from the Kisumu's senator Anyang' Nyong'o about two years ago. ''I have stood with the ODM for many years but instead of appreciating the role I have played to the party, ODM keeps on frustrating, belittling and harassing me,'' he said. ''I defended my party and party leader by action, not by words and Raila Odinga is fully aware of that. Now my question is why are they refusing to give me the full responsibilities?'' He told about 3,500 ODM delegates at Munyere in Busia that he reached such an agreement after a five hour meeting with the Banyala council of elders who advised him to relinquish the post with immediate effect. He said that he will submit his resignation letter by next week.
